Yang Xueshan, MIIT Vice-Minister, Visits Tencent

On the afternoon of November 17 2011 a delegation led by Yang Xueshan the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) inspected Tencent. He was accompanied by Li Li Deputy Director of MIIT Science and Technology Department Zhao Bo Deputy Director of Electronics Department Chen Ying Deputy Director of Software Department and Jiang Zikun Deputy Director of Financial Department as well as the relevant officials of Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City.

Pony Ma Tencent CEO and Charles Chen CAO the Co-Founders of the company welcomed the Yang Xueshan delegation on behalf of Tencent. At the exhibition hall Pony Ma briefed the guests on Tencent’s contents such as development history business model workforce social responsibility and research innovations. Yang Xueshan highly praised Tencent when learned that the company will add more “open sharing” elements to its future development and regard the positive promotion of win-win in the whole industry as its own duty.

During his inspection Yang Xueshan gave full recognition of Tencent’s fast and healthy development over the years. Meanwhile he said that the development of traditional industries had already begun to gradually depend on virtual society which in turn brings forward the development of the whole social productive force. He encouraged Tencent to continue to leverage its soft strength so as to serve domestic users and actively take part in international exchanges and cooperation. He also expressed the hope that young Tencent people should give full play to their creativity and meet greater challenges ahead.

Finally Yang Xueshan happily accepted a mini-Q robot gift presented by Pony Ma on behalf of all Tencent employees and had a group photo taken with the host.
