GAPP’s Deputy Director Sun Shoushan Visits Tencent

A delegation led by Sun Shoushan Deputy Director of the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China (GAPP) visited Tencent in the afternoon on August 16 2010. Mr. Sun was accompanied by other officials such as Yu Changxiang Director of the Personnel Department GAPP Cao Hongsui Deputy Director of the Printing and Issuance Administration Department GAPP Yang Guangrui Deputy Director of Administration of Press and Publication of Guangdong Province (GDAPP) Yang Xinghua GDAPP’s Inspector and Yin Changlong Deputy Director of Administration of Press and Publication of Shenzhen Municipality. Chen Yidan one of the core founders of Tencent and also its Chief Administration Officer (CAO) and RenYuxin Executive Vice President Interactive Entertainment Services met the delegation.

At the meeting Chen Yidan presented the growth of Tencent over the past few years to Deputy Director Sun Shoushan. He focused the presentation to the visiting officials on the general picture of the company in each stage by combining it with previous milestones. RenYuxin presented a report on the company’s plans for Internet games and entertainment as well as its development in those areas.

Deputy Director Sun Shoushan acknowledged Tencent’s achievements and was happy about its fast growth in recent years. He said that the Tencent staff’s dedication to innovation and pragmatism are worth advocating and that Tencent always has the nation in mind while it is growing by giving assistance to compatriots as soon as possible whenever they are in plights. Such a company embodies its social responsibility said Mr. Sun adding that Tencent is a flag among Chinese Internet companies and that its co-founders are examples of successful young entrepreneurs in China.

Looking forward Deputy Director Sun Shoushan expressed his hopes for Tencent in three aspects: continue enhancing innovation figure out how to develop in the industry create more excellent products that meet market demand and satisfy the public’s increasingly high requirements on interactive entertainment products; push the development and publication of healthy online puzzle games for the youth in accordance with GAPP’s requirements increase its capabilities of monitoring and regulation and make further improvements in relevant administration mechanisms for online publication; introduce Internet products into international markets to let more countries and foreigners learn about the Chinese culture and promote the essence of the Chinese civilization by leveraging Internet as a platform.

After the meeting Chen Yidan Chief Administration Officer (CAO) of the Tencent presented Sun Shoushan Deputy Director of GAPP with a Tencent – World Expo souvenir on behalf of the company and had a photo taken with him.
