On December 17 2009 - Zhang Xiaoqiang Vice-Minister of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) inspected Tencent Headquarters in the company of Xu Qin Member of Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee Executive Vice-Mayor of Shenzhen and Director-General of Department of High-Tech Industry of NDRC.
Ma Huateng Founder Chairman of the Board & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tencent and Guo Kaitian Vice-President of the company received the delegation led by Zhang Xiaoqiang Vice-Minister and briefed them on Tencent's history market status and business performances as well as its achievements and exploratory efforts in fulfilling its social responsibilities and making contributions to public welfare.
Zhang Xiaoqiang Vice-Minister congratulated Tencent on its achievements and firmly believed that as the government beefs up support for emerging strategic industries including the Internet and communication infrastructure in China continues to improve Tencent will surely build on its existing work and achieve greater results. Meanwhile he also highly appreciated Tencent's great efforts in fulfilling its social responsibilities and supporting public welfare causes and encouraged Tencent to make greater contributions to the publicity of China's outstanding traditional cultures.
After the inspection Zhang Xiaoqiang Vice-Minister happily accepted a crystal QQ souvenir presented by Ma Huateng and took a group photo.
Ren Zhiwu Deputy Director-General of Department of High-Tech Industry of NDRC and Chen Biao Director-General of the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission also accompanied the inspection tour.
