Your New AI Colleague Brought a Few Talented Friends

In part two of our WorkBuddy series, an AI agent workbench collaborates as a team.

A client proposal is due on Friday, and the draft is nearly there. But the numbers need to hold up, the language needs to make sense, the strategy needs more of an edge, and the copy needs to sound more natural and authentic.

A conventional AI assistant can help with all these tasks, but it typically approaches them generically, with no special skills or background in the material. It may get the work done, but maybe the figures just aren’t quite right, the wording is too generic, and the strategy sounds canned.

When you have one assistant to take on every task, usually something gives.

WorkBuddy has already grappled with this problem. It found a solution that borrows an approach that already works in real offices: bring in the right specialist for each part of the task.

The right expert for the right job

WorkBuddy comes with more than 100 built-in “Experts”, which are ready to use right away. They are basically specific personas with targeted skills and capabilities geared to a specific task. Each has a defined role, a way of working, and the tools to match, covering areas from finance and law to market research and copywriting.

Users can browse WorkBuddy’s built-in Experts and select one to help with a task.

Rather than share the draft proposal with a general AI, you might want the “financial analysis agent” to first scrutinize the numbers. A “contract review agent” could then flag any potential issues in the fine print. No agent is 100 percent perfect, but they give you a sharper starting point for your own review.

The team is standing by to help

To tap these experts in WorkBuddy, you simply describe the task in a sentence and the right mix of roles is assembled for you. A team lead splits the tasks, with each expert working concurrently to save time, all while sharing information along the way.

Users can call on a team of AI experts in WorkBuddy to tackle different parts of a project.

You can monitor the experts until they’re finished. They deliver one unified draft rather than separate sets of notes. You can review their work and consider which improvements to accept.

More expertise, same person in charge

Good teams have long worked this way: colleagues with different skills, one shared goal, and a team head or leader that sets the direction. WorkBuddy brings that setup to your desk without waiting for everyone’s calendars to line up – but leaves you in charge. With the groundwork covered, you get more time for brainstorming, creative work, and conversations with colleagues, rather than staying glued to a screen.

That’s the shift WorkBuddy is making: from one AI assistant trying to answer everything to a specialist team helping you do your best work.
