Tencent Upgrades its "Eco Auto Link" to Solve Three Major Problems in Auto Industry
On May 22, 2019, the "Tencent Global Digital Ecology Conference-Smart Travel Sub-Forum" was held in Kunming, where TAI (Tencent Auto Intelligence) proposed its industry value proposition featuring the evolution to a people-centered "Eco Auto Link", launching its "Eco Auto Link" solution that organically integrates Tencent and third-party content services into cars, so as to create, through super ID+ online payment, a seamless before-during-after-using-car experience. AI scene engine can realize intelligent scene-driven "customized service+service finding user". Meanwhile, TAI has integrated on-car WeChat service into the "Eco Auto Link" solution to provide users with more humanized on-car service.

TAI aims to connect auto enterprises, developers and users to build a human-centered Eco Auto Link, said Zhong Xuedan, vice president of TAI. He added that on the one hand, TAI provides developers with a brand-new car application framework, inherits the existing resources of mobile Internet developers, and encourages developers to make application innovations to promote application ecology. On the other hand, TAI will work together with partners in the automobile industry to create a service and application ecology fit for the auto scene, so that more digitalized and humanized services can be applied to the cars to create or enhance user value.
Four Major Ideas Solve Three Major Problems in Auto Industry
Zhong Xuedan believes that the Auto-Link industry is still in an early stage, and the evolution of the industry faces three core issues: first, compared with the mobile Internet, car content and services are still scarce, and a multitude of demand scenarios need to be developed urgently; Second, the Eco Auto Link is not tantamount to simply "loading" the Internet ecology onto cars. The application of mobile Internet rarely meets the needs of car scenes. Third, since the current Auto-Link application scenes are fragmented, a consistent on-car and off-car use experience is still far from satisfactory.

In order to solve the current three difficult problems in Auto-Link, TAI proposed an evolution to a people-centered "Eco Auto Link". Zhong Xuedan indicated that "Eco Auto Link" boasts four core evolutionary directions: first, people-centered. With its in-depth perception of the people-car--road trinity, Tencent hopes to provide corresponding services to meet users' needs, thus realizing the evolution from "unified service" to "customized service" and from "user finding services" to "service finding user". Second, full-time online. Through super ID and WeChat payment, full-time interconnection across scenes and terminals is realized, a seamless digital before-during-after-using-car experience being created. Third, to work together with partners in the auto industry to integrate rich content service ecology with the on-car scenes. Fourth, to make innovation together with developers to provide a convenient vehicle-mounted application framework and promote application ecology.
Launch of "Eco Auto Link Solution", Intelligent Scene Driving "Service Finding User"
Based on the above four evolutionary directions, Tencent Auto Intelligence has upgraded and launched the "Eco Auto Link Solution" to help partners build "Eco Auto Link" by providing a lightweight, eco-friendly, cross-platform and cross-terminal tool chain.
TAI Upgrade: Eco Auto Link Solution
First of all, Tencent has launched a scene engine. According to Zhong Xuedan, the understanding of users, in-depth mining of vehicle behavior and scene data, rich ecological resources and unified account system are the four important prerequisites to realize personalized intelligent recommendation. Based on super ID, AI, big data and LBS capabilities, the scene engine can perform intelligent matching of user interests, car scenes and service applications, pushing personalized services through scene awareness.
For example, in the parking scene, an early warning function for illegal parking will be pushed to the user. When the vehicle senses the operation that the vehicle owner is about to stop it, it can combine LBS, traffic data and parking service data to give the user an early warning prompt for parking ticket risk and guide the vehicle driver to a safe parking place. In the car entertainment scene, a scenario-based song list recommendation is applied, by which music that suits the user's interests and hobbies, as well as the weather, traffic conditions, local characteristics and so on, is pushed to the user. In the scene of self-driving tour, an intelligent travel guidebook recommendation service starts, which combines scene perception and rich dynamic travel data to recommend interesting tourist arrangement along the way for users, such as reminding users of "the best sunset viewing point and time". With this service, the user will not miss any good scenery en route. When the vehicle breaks down, an automatic fault diagnosis will start to guide the user to the nearest repair point, or call the nearby 4S store through intelligent auxiliary rescue one-key voice.
Secondly, TAI provides super ID and WeChat payment, helps auto enterprises gain access to rich mobile Internet services, thus integrating multiple terminals such as mobile phones, cars and smart devices to realize "full-time online" service. For example, the collection of songs on mobile phones and cars can be synchronized, and the user can keep to listening to the radio programs they heard at home in the morning, or he or she can order a cup of coffee in the car with the car voice assistant and arrive at the office with the coffee awaiting him or her.
At the same time, TAI has launched Tencent Scenes in the "Eco Auto Link Solution", a cross-OS, cloud lightweight developer application framework. Tencent's small scenes need not be downloaded and installed, but can be updated and launched in the cloud to realize "active wakeup" based on voice and scenes. It is said that the small scene is a set of car application framework open to developers. As long as developers have developed a small program, they can publish it as Tencent's small scene with a simple remake, while supporting Tencent's rich access to internal and external ecological resources.
The on-car WeChat service expected by the industry is also integrated into the "Eco Auto Link Solution". The on-car Wechat, which is customized for varied driving scenes, provides Wechat messaging and voice calling based on a full-voice interaction. Users can undertake messaging with only their mouth and no hands. In combination with on-car hardware, instructions can be given by pressing a key on the steering wheel to arouse WeChat. In addition, the on-car WeChat service can sense Bluetooth of the mobile phone, automatically logging in when the user gets on the car, and automatically disconnecting when the user gets off. Also, it can receive the location on WeChat and launch navigation quickly. Zhong Xuedan revealed it is expected that a "Eco Auto Link" WeChat-on-board vehicle will come out in 2019.
Work with Auto Industry to Digitize the Whole "Manufacturing-Sales-Travel-AfterSales" Cycle
At present, TAI has entered into a partnership with 19 automobile companies, 45 car models have already landed or are about to land, and more than 300 head ecological partners have joined hands to provide services for car owners.
On the basis of the "Eco Auto Link Solution", Tencent's cooperation with auto enterprises is also continuously expanding and deepening. It has started cooperation in car cloud, travel service, smart 4S store and other areas to provide assistance for the transformation of the car industry covering the whole life cycle of "Manufacturing-Sales-Travel-AfterSales" .
According to Li bo, general manager of TAI Cloud & Travel Business, Tencent has launched the "Auto Brain" solution for auto cloud, which not only provides traditional IAAS and PAAS services to auto companies, but also unites many partners to provide a wide spectrum of SAAS cloud solutions. At present, more than 18 big car manufactures have used Tencent's Auto Cloud Service, and the smart internet cloud platform has also landed in many auto enterprises.
In the field of travel service, Tencent goes a long way in building a travel service platform from scratch for auto enterprises, transforming to a mobile travel service provider. According to Li Bo, Tencent's travel service solution provides one-stop cloud service capability, helping build a leading travel system, and providing a full-stage refined operation scheme. At present, Tencent has provided travel service solutions and cloud services to five travel service companies including Guangzhou Auto Travel, T3 Travel and Didi Travel.
Tencent's smart 4S distribution solution helps auto enterprises to open up the closed "people-car-store" loop, opening up the links of pre-sales communication, vehicle test drive, sales, after-sales, and maintenance, etc. It provides stores with a smarter customer management system and improves the efficiency and service of 4S stores. Also, users' maintenance data in the service process will be synchronized to auto enterprises, providing reference for optimization of car manufacturing. At present, Tencent has cooperated with major listed distribution groups, landing in more than 100 4S stores.
